On behalf of the Nevis Tourism Authority, we were thrilled to offer an amazing week long holiday on the outstandingly beautiful Caribbean Island of Nevis at the Terry Wogan charity auction for Children in Need. The lot included hosting 4 nights at Montpelier Plantation Inn and 3 nights at Nisbet Beach Plantation on Nevis.
Nevis was item number 3 in a small list of charity lots and was hotly contested. At the auction, Sponge introduced the island, explained both properties to an audience of over 1,000 celebrities and business leaders (all of whom paid a significant sum to attend) and explained why the NTA are different.
The winning bid was £4,000 and the lady was thrilled.
What was interesting was the amount of people that approached Sponge afterwards to enquire about Nevis. Many people had stayed at Sandy Lane or other premium plantation properties in Barbados, loved the Caribbean but were looking for a change. There could not have been a more perfect audience and Sponge are excited by the prospect of doing this, or similar again next year. The auction was excellent in increasing awareness for Nevis, which will hopefully result in increased visitors to the Island.
